To understand marine and river dune dynamics, the MARID community combines expertise from a variety of disciplines including geology, engineering, geomorphology, environmental management, hydrography and biology. The community meets every few years at a dedicated international conference to share findings derived from observations, modelling and experiments. MARIDV was held in North Wales in April 2016 and MARIDVI will be held in Bremen, Germany, in 2019.
With this website, the MARID community aims to:
- Provide a focus and a communication platform for international research on sedimentary bedform dynamics
- To share information on tools and best practice that will aid the efficiency and consistency of research methods.
- To support early-career scientists in their research through travel grant opportunities, promotion of their work and networking opportunities
