EGU2023, session SSP 3.1: bedform morphodynamics in terrestrial and planetary environments

Please consider submitting an abstract to the session on Bedform morphodynamics in terrestrial and planetary environments (SSP 3.1) at the EGU General Assembly 2023. EGU (23-28 April 2023) will be a hybrid event facilitating online and in-person participation in Vienna.

To all river, marine, aeolian, glacial, volcanic and extra-terrestrial geomorphologists and sedimentologists, we would like to draw your attention to the EGU session on “Bedform morphodynamics in terrestrial and planetary environments”. We invite contributions regarding all aspects of bedform dynamics and sedimentary structures in both terrestrial and extra-terrestrial environments. The deadline for abstract submission is 10 January 2023, 13:00 CET.

Conference MARID VII, 3-5 April 2023, Rennes, France

MARID VII will be held in Rennes, France, on April 3-5, 2023  and is organised by the Institute of Physics of Rennes and Geosciences Rennes Laboratory (University of Rennes 1) and the French Naval Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office (SHOM).
Scientific sessions will take place in the Beaulieu Scientific Campus on 3 and 4 April 2023 including talks from keynote speakers and oral and poster presentations by delegates. On 5 April a field trip is planned to the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay to allow a convivial exchange between participants.
The aim of this meeting is to encourage effective communication between physicists, geologists, biologists and modellers to improve our understanding of bedform dynamics with particular attention to societal relevance.
Three speakers are already scheduled to give keynote lectures: Nathalie Vriend (Cambridge, UK), Bruno Andreotti (Paris, France), Jim Best (University of Illinois, US).
The conference is open to all professionals and stakeholders dealing with bedform dynamics.

MARIDVI: Second Call for Abstracts

The 6th edition of the international Conference series on Marine and River Dune Dynamics (MARID), will take place at Haus der Wissenschaft, Bremen, on 1 and 2 April 2019, with an icebreaker on 31 March and a field excursion on 3 April. The aim of this meeting is to encourage effective communication between physicists, geologists, biologists and modellers to improve our understanding of bedform dynamics, with particular attention to societal relevance. For more information, visit our website: https://www.marum.de/en/Research/MARID.html

Three speakers are already scheduled to give keynote lectures: Prof Dr Cheng Heqin (East China Normal University), Assoc Prof Pieter C. Roos (University of Twente) and Prof Dr Dan Parsons (University of Hull).

A short course on Bedforms-ATM, an open-source software developed to standardise the scale-based discrimination of bedforms, will also be offered free of charge.

MARIDVI will award student travel grants to young scientists contributing to the meeting. Please forward this invitation to your colleagues and students!

Submission of abstracts for oral or poster presentations is due by Tuesday 30 October 2018. Please use the template, and keep to a length of 2 to 6 pages. We encourage the inclusion of figures. The online submission form is available via https://www.marum.de/en/Research/MARID/Abstract.html
