Two PhD positions about (marine and river) dunes

The Institute of Natural Sciences (Brussels), in collaboration with UGent (Department of Geology), is recruiting a PhD student to conduct research on the long-term effects of large-scale sand extraction on sandbanks. The aim is to identify indicators of seabed change by combining geological data and bathymetric time series of more than 30 years, and to proactively contribute to the development of exploitation strategies in environments with increasing sand scarcity. The (fully funded, 4-year) PhD is part of the BANX project (https://lnkd.in/d4G-i6Hd), a Belgian-Dutch collaboration funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and coordinated by the University of Twente.
